The DOC Race S55 single turbo kit will be offered with Turbosmart v-band turbochargers and Turbosmart 45mm wastegate. We believe we have designed the best manifold on the market for you S55 owners. The manifold starts with a 6 to 1 collector which we have used in the past on applications and seems to yield the best results as far as spool up, peak power, and also sound! The runners are 1.25 schedule 40 which when properly tuned can make over 1200whp.
The manifold will connect to the turbo by V-band connection due to space restrictions. So this means only one nut to uninstall to remove your turbo. There will be options for 2 different turbo styles.
You will have 2 different style of charge pipes to choose from. First will be to oem dual inlet charge coolers. This charge pipe will start off as 3" and split into dual 2.25". The look of this style is the best we have seen. It is very pleasing to the eye. The second option will be a single 3" pipe going to a DOC Race/CSF Race charge cooler. This charge cooler can be purchased on our site and is exclusively sold to DOC Race customers only. The charge cooler has a single inlet not in the center like others on the market but angled specifically for this turbo kit! It is the first in the industry of its kind. You can bet if you have this charge cooler it will be an eye catcher especially since you are pairing this with the DOC Race top mount turbo kit!
This kit uses the normal pneumatic wastegate which all tuners now are experienced with. If it ain't broke don't fix it!! Others on the market use an aftermarket electric wastegate where you have to send in your oem actuator to be modified and only one company can do this mod. Using a pneumatic wastegate has always been the correct way to control boost and it's pretty obvious!
We supply a heat shield with this kit and all other kits we offer. There simply is no way around this. You play with fire and you will get burned eventually. We have seen valve covers melt by other turbo kit manufacturers and it is not cheap to replace. It will be in the thousands of dollars minimum if you have to replace your valve cover and hopefully none of your wires are melted as well.
This kit will be offered with both open dump wastegate and recirculated. This is the first time we have offered this option and it is possible thanks to the beginning phases of development. We all love open dump for you hardcore enthusiasts but there is something to be said about a really fast car that isn't too loud. Pick your poison!
